This Refund and Cancellation Policy governs cancellations, refunds, disputes, and payment reversals on the GetHuduma platform (“Platform”). By using GetHuduma, all users agree to comply with this Policy.
1. Purpose
GetHuduma connects Clients with independent Service Providers. This Policy explains when cancellations are permitted, when refunds may be granted, and how disputes are handled.
2. Definitions
- Client – A user seeking services through GetHuduma.
- Service Provider – A professional or business offering services through GetHuduma.
- Service Fee – The amount agreed upon for the completion of a service.
- Refund – Return of money paid by a Client.
- Cancellation – Termination of a service request before completion.
3. Service Request Cancellation
3.1 Cancellation Before Acceptance
A Client may cancel a service request at any time before a Service Provider accepts the request.
No cancellation fee will apply.
3.2 Cancellation After Acceptance
If a Service Provider has already accepted the request, the Client may still cancel.
GetHuduma may deduct reasonable administrative charges if:
- Work has already begun.
- Costs have already been incurred.
- Site visits have been completed.
- Materials have already been purchased.
4. Service Provider Cancellation
Service Providers are expected to honor accepted jobs.
If a Service Provider cancels after accepting a job:
- The Client may receive a full refund of any payments made.
- Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.
- Service Providers may receive negative performance ratings.
5. Refund Eligibility
A Client may be eligible for a refund where:
A. Service Was Not Delivered
The Service Provider fails to perform the agreed service.
B. Provider Fails to Appear
The Service Provider does not attend the scheduled appointment without reasonable notice.
C. Significant Misrepresentation
The service delivered differs substantially from what was agreed.
D. Fraudulent Activity
Evidence of fraud, deception, or unauthorized transactions exists.
E. Duplicate Payment
The Client was charged multiple times for the same service.
6. Situations Where Refunds May Not Be Granted
Refunds may be denied where:
- The Client changes their mind after service completion.
- The Client is dissatisfied without reasonable justification.
- The Client approved completed work before requesting a refund.
- The dispute concerns matters outside the agreed scope of work.
- Delays were caused by the Client.
- Services were partially completed and accepted.
7. Partial Refunds
GetHuduma may issue partial refunds where:
- A portion of the service was completed.
- Materials were already purchased.
- Expenses were incurred before cancellation.
- Both parties agree to a partial refund.
The refund amount will be determined based on available evidence.
8. Payment Release Process
Where applicable, payments may be held temporarily until:
- Work is completed.
- The Client confirms satisfaction.
- The dispute period expires.
Upon approval, funds will be released to the Service Provider.
9. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises:
Step 1: Direct Resolution
Clients and Service Providers should attempt to resolve issues directly.
Step 2: Platform Review
If unresolved, either party may submit a dispute to GetHuduma.
The dispute must include:
- Job details
- Communication records
- Photos or videos
- Receipts
- Supporting documentation
Step 3: Investigation
GetHuduma may review available evidence and communicate with both parties.
Step 4: Decision
After investigation, GetHuduma may:
- Approve a full refund
- Approve a partial refund
- Reject the refund request
- Release payment to the Service Provider
The decision of GetHuduma shall be final unless otherwise required by law.
10. Refund Request Time Limit
Clients must submit refund requests within:
7 days after service completion
or
7 days after the scheduled service date if the service was not delivered.
Claims submitted after this period may be rejected.
11. Refund Processing Time
Approved refunds are typically processed within:
5–14 business days
depending on the payment provider and financial institution.
GetHuduma is not responsible for delays caused by banks, mobile money operators, or payment processors.
12. Non-Refundable Fees
The following fees may be non-refundable:
- Platform service fees
- Administrative charges
- Verification fees
- Payment processing fees
- Advertising or promotional fees
unless otherwise required by law.
13. Chargebacks
Users agree to contact GetHuduma before initiating a chargeback with a bank or payment provider.
Fraudulent or abusive chargebacks may result in:
- Account suspension
- Account termination
- Legal action where applicable
14. Abuse of Refund Policy
Users may not misuse the refund process.
Examples include:
- False claims
- Fraudulent complaints
- Repeated refund abuse
- Submission of misleading evidence
Violations may result in permanent account suspension.
15. Force Majeure
Refunds may not be granted where service performance is affected by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including:
- Natural disasters
- Floods
- Fire
- Government restrictions
- Internet outages
- Public emergencies
- Acts of war
16. Policy Changes
GetHuduma reserves the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time.
Updated versions will be published on the Platform.
